ICAR ATARI Pune organized Annual Action Plan and Natural Farming Workshop of KVKs in Maharashtra & Goa during 13-14 March 2024 at Nashik.

ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Pune organized a
two-day Annual Action Plan and Natural Farming Workshop of KVKs in Maharashtra and
Goa in collaboration at KVK YCMOU Nashik I during 13-14 March, 2024.
Dr. S. K. Roy, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune in his welcome address emphasized the role of
ATARI Pune, and guided KVKs on website development of KVKs, Project account opening,
development of crop wise package of practices under Natural Farming. Dr. V. M. Mayande,
Former Vice Chancellor, PDKV, Akola urged to focus on postproduction marketing and
value chain. He explained the significance of climate resilience technologies, soil and water
resource degradation, market intelligent issues, impact of Policy on farmers.Dr. K. D.
Kokate, former DDG, Agril. Extn., ICAR New Delhi appealed to the KVKs to conserve
Natural resources available on KVK farm, prepare district specific strategies for increasing
income of farmers, develop roadmap to extension functionaries.
Dr. R Roy Burman, ADG, Agril. Extn., ICAR New Delhi in his address guided KVKs on
successful implementation of OFT, FLD, documentation, Oilseeds and Pulses model village,
One stop solution, MOUs, Drone technologies. Prof. Sanjeev Sonawane, VC, YCMOU,
Nashik addressed the KVKs as Chief Guest during the workshop. He highlighted the role of
AI based technologies, wisdom available with farmers, multidisciplinary approach of KVKs.
Dr. Parag Haldankar, DEE, BSKKV, Dapoli, Dr. D. N Gokhale, DEE, VNMKV, Parbhani,
Dr. C. S. Patil, DEE, MPKV, Rahuri, Dr. D. B. Undirwade, DEE, PDKV, Akola, Dr. A. U.
Bhikane, DEE, MAFSU, Nagpur guided KVKs gave their valuable suggestions for
developing realistic action plan of KVKs.
In this program, overall 65 participants were present. 52 Senior Scientists and Heads
representing 50 KVKs of Maharashtra and 02 KVKs of Goa participated and presented their
action plan for year 2024 and significant acheievements.
